Small French Fruitwood Dresser Base c.1760

Charming little 18th.c. provincial French fruitwood and elm dresser base c.1760. Useful small size, just over 50" wide. Two plank fruitwood top with rounded edges over a long drawer and two door cupboard fitted with a single shelf inside (internal depth 17½"). Fruitwood front with attractive shaped door panels within a carved surround and splendid oversized brass lockplates to both doors and the drawer front, which also retains the original brass handles. Note also the large brass hinges and the brass studs around the edge of the top and repeated on the drawer and door fronts. Shaped apron between the front stiles. Elm panelled sides, rear stiles and backboards. Some obvious old worm holes to the timbers, otherwise very good condition and particularly good colour. Restored cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Cupboard key supplied.
