Long English Oak Dresser Base c.1790

Superb late 18th.c. English oak open dresser base c.1790. Measuring seven feet in length, little longer than many we see. Two plank top with a raised plate stand along the back edge (could be removed if preferred) and an applied moulding to the underside. Three large drawers with cockbeaded edges, inlaid mahogany crossbanding and period brass handles with pierced backplates and escutcheons. Exceptionally well shaped and pierced decorative apron across the front and continued with a cupid's bow at the sides. Elegant cabriole front legs with pad feet, the straight rear stiles with chamfered edges. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
