Pair of Long Oak Benches by Jack Grimble of Cromer c.1950

Fine quality pair of long oak benches by the mid 20th.c. English Arts & Crafts maker Jack Grimble of Cromer (Norfolk) c.1950. 78" long x 12" seats made from single oak boards with hand planed surface and chip carved ends. Shaped rails below the seat, also chip carved at the ends, and splayed legs with lovely Gothic arch detail to form the feet. Traditional pegged construction, note faceted heads to the pegs. Signed Jack Grimble Cromer on the underside of both benches. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
