Georgian Oak Box Settle c.1790
Long George III oak box settle or hall bench c.1790. Just over six feet long. Five raised and fielded panels to the backrest within moulded rails and mullions. Nicely shaped arms with rounded ends on turned supports. Over a board seat (height 21") lifting on brass hinges to reveal ample storage below for boots and shoes etc, with a solid partition toward the right hand end. Three raised and fielded panels across the base and a moulded trim along the bottom edge. Oak panelled sides and rear. Oak floor boards. Excellent colour and condition. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
