Pair of Mahogany & Leather Library Chairs c.1830

Fabulous pair of English mahogany and leather library armchairs c.1830. Solid mahogany frames with graceful curving shape and moulded detail to the backrest and crook arms. Buttoned upholstered backrest and arm pads and large sprung seats all upholstered in good quality black leather with brass studs (also continued on the rear of the chairs). Shaped front edge to the seat with a moulded frame below. Raised on good turned and tapering front legs carved with roundels, a rope twist detail, petals and gadrooning. Raised on the original brass castors. Rear legs swept out and back for stability. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
