Large Provencal Cherry Wood Settle c.1830

Large French cherry wood bench from Provence c.1830. A particularly good example of the form, over six feet long, the back rest with a long single piece cresting rail over four broad splats alternating with column supports. Beautifully shaped arms with raised detail over a deep woven rush seat (height 17″). Turned legs front and rear. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. The seat appears to have been raised to a more useful height from it’s original position.
