Pair of Empire Style Brass Inlaid Armchairs c.1900

Very smart pair French Empire style brass inlaid rosewood armchairs c.1900. Shapely rosewood frames with curving backrests and open arms with scrolling terminals. Decorative brass inlays to the cresting rail and to the apron below the seat. Inlaid brass stringing running down the arms and around the sides. Carved front legs also brass inlaid. Upholstered in a well chosen fabric with Empire style decoration of a laurel wreath around a central roundel to both the backrest and seat. Missing some portions of the brass stringing to the arms, otherwise excellent colour and condition with clean and serviceable upholstery. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
