Walnut & Marble Top Console Table c.1860

Mid 19th.c. French marble top console or hall table c.1860. Original black marble top with tiny white fossils embedded within and rounded front corners. Over a deep apron containing one long drawer with walnut veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the front and sides. Raised on slim cabriole shaped front legs and square column pilasters at the rear. On an open plinth, veneered to match and with the front edge shaped to prevent it getting kicked. Some minor old wear to the marble, otherwise excellent condition and particularly attractive honey coloured timber. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
