Very Large Wingback Armchair c.1920

Very impressively proportioned large George I style wingback armchair c.1920. Standing very nearly five feet tall. High shaped backrest and wings above rollover arms with swept fronts. Sprung seat with loose cushion (seat height 20"). Raised on carved mahogany front legs with acanthus leaf detail to the knees and large ball and claw feet. Upholstered in a burgundy damask with fringes edges and a tassel braid around the base. Serviceable upholstery with minor wear and a small hole on the top of one of the wings. Otherwise very good condition, solid and sturdy, legs have been cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
