Pair of Satinwood Armchairs c.1920

Very smart pair of satinwood open armchairs c.1920. Satinwood frames with inlaid ebony stringing. Arched top backrests with slim moulded spindles featuring an attractive inlaid marquetry detail to the tops, over double stretchers with fine pierced detail between. Shaped arms on swept supports allowing the chairs to be brought close to a table or desk. Padded and webbed seats (height 18") freshly upholstered in a woven plaid or tartan fabric. Tapering square front legs, ebony inlaid on the outer faces and with spade feet. Discolouration on the lowest stretcher on one chair. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops and freshly upholstered.
