Pair of Large Windsor Armchairs c.1960

Good pair of large stick back Windsor armchairs in ash beech and elm c.1960. Steamed top rail and back stretcher with stick spindles and turned supports for the arms. Note the two extra spindles at the rear to brace the unusually tall backrest. Generously proportioned saddle seats (height 18") shaped from thick single piece elm boards. Turned legs splayed for stability and joined with turned H stretchers. Excellent condition, very solid and sturdy, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
