Georgian Welsh Dresser c.1790

Beautiful George III Welsh dresser, from Montgomeryshire mid Wales, c.1790. Low rack with three shelves over a shallow (just 15" deep) three drawer base with an open potboard. Moulded cornice and shaped sides to the rack, note how the shelves get shallower as they descend down to the attractive little shoes. Ebony cockbeaded drawer fronts with the original brass handles (note some minor damage to the backplates on the left hand drawer) and escutcheons. Graceful curving ogee arch aprons below each drawer, also with ebony cockbeading to the bottom edge. Turned front legs joined to the the straight rear stiles with a potboard display shelf. With a good moulded edge to the shelf and raised on the original shaped bracket feet at the front and sides. Oak sides to the rack and base. Excellent condition and wonderful warm colour and patina to the timber. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
