French Empire Gueridon Centre Table c.1820

Beautiful early 19th.c. French Empire gueridon or centre table c.1820. 31½" diameter top in black marble with hundreds of tiny white fossils embedded in the stone and with a slightly raised edge to prevent spilt drinks from running off the sides. Over a flame mahogany veneered apron and shaped legs with gilded brass acanthus mounts. Legs are joined with a shaped tri-corn stretcher, veneered to match, and raised on the original gilded brass paw feet and castors below. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
