First World War Mahogany Aircraft Propeller by De Havilland c.1914

Splendid large four blade aircraft propeller c.1914. Beautifully shaped from laminated pieces of solid mahogany. With eight (rather than the later 6) bolt holes around the hub. Stamped '80hp Renault De Havilland 6' ,the propeller is most likely taken from an Airco D.H 6 a biplane specifically designed by de Havilland to train pilots for Royal Flying Corps during the First World War and powered by the Renault 80 hp V8 engine. Stamped with various serial numbers and several A.I.D (Aeronautical Inspection Department) marks. Some minor wear, but generally very good condition. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Measuring 79" (201cm) diagonally from tip to tip, when mounted on the wall it would occupy a 56" (142cm) square space.
