Large Oil on Canvas The Gypsies Encampment by T.A Cooke c.1900

Impressively proportioned oil painting on canvas on a gypsy encampment c.1900. On a path through dense old woodland three figures beside a small shelter with a pot boiling over a campfire and washing hung on a line to dry. A forth figure with a dog can be seen through the trees in the middle distance. Signed T.A Cooke in the bottom right hand corner. In a broad gilded wooden frame with moulded gesso decoration. Relaid onto canvas and annotated on the rear. Some obvious damage and repairs to the frame.
