Large Persian Carpet

Large Persian carpet from Iran c.1960. Almost 12 feet long and 8 feet 8 inches wide. Densely knotted with a short pile. Featuring a spectacular garden pattern in reds and blues with flowers and plant motifs symmetrically arranged around a large eight petal flower head central medallion. Unusual spandrels at the corners. Within a broad border with multiple bands of decoration. Short fringe at each end. Labelled as made in Iran in French on the rear. Good condition, even colour.
