Set of Four African Hardwood Palaver Chairs c.1960

Superb set of four traditional West African chairs c.1960. Of a form known as palaver chairs, the backs and seats being two separate boards which are slotted together to make a very sturdy low chair. In 1½” thick hardwood with rounded ends and dished seats and backrests with a simple chip carved border. Easily dismantled for storage they would be ideal as garden or patio seating perhaps. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
