Walnut & Marble Top Commode c.1860

Superb French marble top chest of drawers or commode c.1860. Original and well figured grey marble top with rounded corners and a moulded edge. Over a chest of four long drawers, the shallow top drawer with a shaped front continued on the sides. Particularly well figured burr walnut veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the drawer fronts, with an inlaid brass escutcheon to each. Solid walnut sides, moulded plinth, also veneered to match. Solid oak drawer linings. Shrinkage to the top edge of the top drawer front and some minor wear to the veneers. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
