Very Large Pair of Wing Armchairs c.1930

Remarkable pair of very large William & Mary style wing armchairs c.1930. High backs, standing very nearly 5 feet tall, with shallow wings rising to shaped and roll-over tops which are repeated in the shape broad of the armrest. Sprung seats with loose feather filled cushions. Upholstered in a splendid red and gold woven velvet damask fabric with a tassel fringe. Raised on sturdy solid walnut bases with turned legs, carved and pierced front stretchers and turned and block stretchers to the sides, rear and across the centre. Excellent condition.
