Small Elm Dresser Base c.1820

Delightful little early 19th.c. elm dresser base c.1820. Unusually small size, under five feet long and just 15" front to back. Top made from a single elm board with a rounded edge. Over three drawers with particularly good grain and colour to the drawer fronts and later brass handles. Unusual reeded detail above below and between the drawers, also repeated on the sides of the dresser. Raised on turned front legs with lovely bobbin turned detail to the tops and feet. Great rustic character, note how the top has a developed a pronounced dished shape over time, typical of elm. Good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
