Painted Pine Kitchen Dresser Base c.1840
Delightful mid 19th.c. pine Welsh dresser base retaining its original paintwork c.1840. Featuring three working drawers across the top over a two door cupboard (internal depth 17½") with a bank of dummy drawer fronts at the centre. Original 'scumbled' finish, painted to resemble more expensive oak timber in the frame and on the side panels whilst the drawer fronts and door panels are painted to look like mahogany. With bone inlaid escutcheons and slightly later 19th.c. brass handles. Moulded base trim and shaped bracket feet to the front. Panelled rear. Very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Cupboard keys supplied.
