Small 18th.c. Welsh Oak Press Cupboard c.1760

Lovely little mid 18th.c. Welsh oak press cupboard c.1760. Smaller than many we of this style, 47½" wide and just over five feet tall. Two door cupboard top (internal depth 18") fitted with a single full depth shelf plus an 8" deep shelf above. On a separate base with two short drawers and three long drawers of graduated height. Moulded cornice with a simple carved detail continued on the sides and a frieze of blind fretwork across the front. Raised and fielded pointed ogee arch-top door panels within moulded surround. Chamfered and fluted detail to front corners. Moulded drawer fronts with later swan neck brass handles. Ogee mouldings to the waist and around the base. Shaped bracket feet to the front and sides. Oak sides and shelves, elm drawer sides with pine bases. The backboards are pine in the top and oak in the base. Excellent colour and condition cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Cupboard key supplied.
