Pair of Walnut Armchairs c.1860

Fine pair of 19th.c. French Louis XV style walnut marquise armchairs c.1860. Shapely solid walnut frames with extensive carved detail. Rounded and padded backs and sides, the swept arms with scrolling acanthus terminals and curving supports, over wide sprung seats. Upholstered in a gold silk damask, continued on the rear. Shaped apron and cabriole legs with scrolling feet front and rear. Excellent colour and condition with clean and serviceable covers.
