Oak Welsh Dresser Base c.1810

Early 19th.c. Welsh oak dresser base c.1810. Plank top with a mahogany moulded edge. Over three drawers across the top, two large cupboards (internal depth 17½") and a central bank of three more drawers. Interesting decorative details to the front typical of dressers produced on Anglesey here in North Wales. Note the crossbanded mahogany inlaid detail to the drawer and door fronts, inlaid diamond shaped bone escutcheons and the turned mahogany columns to the front corners. Later brass swan neck handles with Georgian pattern shaped back plates. Oak panelled sides with moulded rails between. Deal panelled back, drawer linings and floor. Excellent condition and attractive pale colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops, cupboard keys supplied.
