Large Triple Plate Overmantle Mirror c.1880

Spectacular late 19th.c. triple plate overmantle mirror c.1880. Over six feet wide. Original 35" x 41" central plate and 14" x 31" plates on each side. With arched tops and 1" wide bevelled edges. Gilded wooden frame with simple moulded detail, scrolling corbels at the ends and a moulded plinth. Raised on the original black pot buns. Some light shadowing and tarnish to the mirror and minor wear to the gilding which is rubbed through in places to reveal the red ground below. Generally very good original condition.
