Large Still Life of Fruit and Vegetables c.1920

Delightful early 20th.c. still life oil on canvas c.1920. Unusual long and narrow dimensions, the canvas being five feet long but just 21" tall, designed to hang over a serving sideboard perhaps. Very well painted with a bountiful composition of fruit and vegetables featuring lettuce, artichoke, celery, a pineapple, apricots, apples, pears, peaches, strawberries and grapes against a landscape of fields and trees beneath a blue sky. With a faint signature in the lower left hand corner. Presented as found, a little loose on the stretcher but generally very good condition within a simple moulded wooden frame with gilded finish.
