Large Art Deco Limed Oak Sideboard c.1930
Very stylish large limed oak sideboard by the celebrated Belgian firm De Coene c.1930. Over seven feet long, the a raised centre with sliding glass doors, unusually shaped shelves and opaque glass sides with working lights behind to light the cabinet's satinwood lined interior. Over a two door cupboard fitted with a single adjustable shelf (internal depth 17"), flanked with taller cupboards to each side, both with two adjustable shelves within. Fabulous streamlined design with rounded corners and free of any applied decoration save for the oak veneers arranged so the medullary rays form a symmetrical pattern across the exterior. Raised on a long plinth foot with moulded front edge repeated from the surround below the glazed cabinet. Excellent condition, fitted with brand new lights, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Retaining the original keys for all three locks.
Note this is part of a matching suite of furniture by De Coene together with an extending dining table, six chairs and a smaller sideboard.
