Art Deco Limed Oak Extending Dining Table c.1930
Art Deco limed oak dining table by the celebrated Belgian firm De Coene c.1930. 69" x 39" table top in limed oak chequerboard veneers (the grain arranged in alternating directions in each square) with rounded corners and a 4" deep crossbanded edge. Raised on pedestal ends and sledge feet joined with a polished white metal stretcher. Maker's stamp to the underside of the table.
Clips below the table allow the top to extend to accommodate up to seven 19" wide leaves with a maximum length of 202", very nearly 17 feet long! With an extra pair of legs folding from underneath each end of the table for support. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Note this is part of a matching suite of furniture by De Coene together with, six leather covered dining chairs a large sideboard and smaller side cabinet.
