Campaign Chest of Drawers c.1850

Lovely little example of the classic 19th.c. campaign chest of drawers c.1850. Useful small size, just 36" wide. Designed to travel with an officer on long military campaigns, it is constructed in two sections which fit together to make a chest of two short and three long drawers. The top, drawer fronts and sides are in solid teak strengthened with brass bindings and corners to protect it from the rigours of travel. Original brass drawer handles designed to fold flush with the drawer fronts to prevent them from being broken in transit. Original heavy iron carry handles at the sides. Raised on small turned bun feet. Superb original colour and very good condition, restored cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
