18th.c. Oak Dresser Base c.1760
George III Montgomeryshire Welsh dresser base c.1760. Two plank top with a rounded edge and an applied moulding to the underside. Three oak lined drawers with cockbeaded drawer fronts and later brass handles. Fluted pilasters either side of the drawers (an unusual feature) and another applied moulding below the level of the drawers. Over very attractive apron featuring three cupid's bow shaped arches, also repeated at the sides. Raised on turned front legs and square rear stiles joined with a potboard display shelf also in oak with a raised lip at the front and sides and a moulded front edge. Some old wear and repairs, generally excellent colour and condition and great character. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
