Set of Six Art Nouveau Dining Chairs c.1900

Rare set of six French Art Nouveau dining chairs in oak c.1900. Solid oak frames, backrests featuring decorative pierced leaf and berry carving to the splats which is shaped to form a hand grip below the top rail. Seats (height 19") retaining the original leather covers, attractively worn and with beautiful little brass studs at the edges in the form of a five lobed leaf or flower head. The organic theme continues in the sinuous shape of the legs and the unusual curving stretchers, note how their shape is repeated in the apron at the sides of the chairs. Very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
