Oak & Brass Gothic Revival Wall Mirror c.1890

Superb Gothic revival wall mirror c.1890. Original 13½" x 31½" pointed or Gothic arch shaped mirror plate with a bevelled edge. Within a moulded oak frame with decorative carved detail to the top edge of the arch. The frame is further decorated with exceptional repoussé brass panels. With a frieze of scrolling vine and grape detail to the arch, featuring a heraldic shield at the centre. Flanking the mirror are knights in medieval armour carrying a sword or pike and leaning on their shields. They stand atop Gothic columns, both flanked with further heraldic devices. More brass panels below the mirror and applied detail to the moulded edges of the frame. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops and ready to hang.
