Good example of the classic late 19th.c. farmhouse kitchen armchair c.1880. High backrest with a curved crest rail on long turned spindles and shaped arms also on turned supports, all in beech. Over a lovely shaped seat made from a single elm board of particularly good grain. Raised on turned legs, flared for stability and joined with double centre stretchers for extra strength.
