Oak Potboard Dresser Base c.1780

Late 18th.c. oak dresser base c.1780. Split level top with a raised plate stand along the back edge, shaped sides and a moulded front edge with canted corners. Over three slim drawers with period brass handles and a particularly attractive pierced apron of repeated and interlocking arches below. Raised on three tuned front legs (note the scratch carved detail) joined to the square rear stiles with a potboard display shelf with three raised panels and an applied moulded edge. Oak sides, drawer linings and backboard. Great rustic character, note the top is slightly dished. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
