William IV Rosewood Library Table c.1835
Beautiful quality rosewood double sided library table or desk by the acclaimed Liverpool cabinet makers A.Blain c.1835. 59" x 26½" top with a striking pattern of highly figured rosewood bookleaf veneers and a crossbanded edge moulding plus secondary mouldings below. Over two drawers with cockbeaded edges and mother of pearl escutcheons. Crisply carved and pierced legs in solid rosewood, on moulded plinths joined with a broad shaped and moulded stretcher and raised on superb acanthus carved feet with original Lewty & Co. brass castors recessed below. Note the design is identical on both sides with the drawers opening from either side. Stamped A.Blain Liverpool on the top of one the drawer fronts. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
