Small Queen Anne Style Walnut Bureau Bookcase c.1930

Charming little Queen Anne style bureau bookcase c.1930. Double arch top bookcase top fitted with two shelves inside (internal depth 6½"). Over a bureau base with an oak lined fitted interior of pigeon holes and small drawers either side of a lockable central compartment and hidden slides. With an unusual configuration of one long drawer and three short drawers below the bureau. Very attractive example of the form with fine decorative detail. Deep moulded and crossbanded cornice, beautifully figured walnut veneers, crossbanded on the doors and used as 'oyster' veneers on the drawer fronts, with inlaid feather banding. Unusual carved and gilded detail to the middle lower drawer and to the fronts of the slides inside the bureau. Original brass handles and knobs. Shaped and crossbanded apron to the front and sides and raised on solid walnut cabriole legs with shaped feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Keys supplied
