Welsh Potboard Dresser Base c.1800
Late Georgian oak dresser base, South Wales c.1800. Top made from a single 17" wide oak board. Over three Over three drawers with moulded edges and attractive Georgian pattern brass handles with pierced back plates. Straight apron, with a deep ogee moulding applied at the front and sides. Raised on turned column front legs and sturdy square rear stiles, over an open potboard display shelf. Missing some portions of timber from each of the front legs (presumably an earlier adaption allowing larger pots to be accommodated on the shelf?). Otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
