Very Tall Empire Style Mirror c.1830

Impressive French Empire mirror or pier glass c.1830. Standing very nearly eight feet tall. Original 65″ x 21″ mirror in three sections (typical of earlier mirrors when manufacturing a single large piece was very difficult). Flame mahogany veneered frame with splendid stepped and moulded architectural cornice topped with a swan neck pediment with inlaid marquetry details. Long half columns flanking the mirror with carved Ionic capitals and turned bases. Raised on a tall plinth with rounded corners and veneered to match. Obvious tarnish to the mirror plates, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
