Very Large Silver Dressing Table Mirror by William Comyns Dated London 1902
Exceptional Edwardian silver easel back dressing table mirror hallmarked London 1902. At 28" tall this is by far the largest such mirror we have ever come across. 12½" x 18" mirror plate with shaped and bevelled edges. Pierced solid silver surround with fine chased decoration of flowers and leaves amongst scrolling acanthus. Stamped with a clear set of hallmarks (date stamp g for 1902), a registered design number and the maker's stamp W.C for William Comyns. Shaped wooden groundwork with original backing cloth and hinged stand. Original label for the high end London retailers J.C Vickery of Regent Street. Obvious wear to the cloth, otherwise excellent condition with a very clean mirror plate.
