Stick Back Windsor Chair c.1950

Charming 20th.c. stick back Windsor chair c.1950. Unusual vernacular design with a slim steamed ash top rail shaped to form the backrest and short arms. Slim shaved sticks with turned spindles at the front of the arms. Over a beautifully shaped seat carved from a single elm board (seat height 17½"). Raised on turned oak legs splayed for stability and joined with turned H stretchers. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
