Small Walnut Chest of Drawers with Foldover Top c.1930

Charming little George I style walnut bachelor's chest c.1930. Just 27" wide. Superb quality reproduction with symmetrically arranged walnut veneers to the top with a crossbanded border an inlaid herringbone stringing. Open the top to form a useful square work surface with both leaves veneered and inlaid to match (the folding leaf resting on two sliding loafers below). Over a chest of four drawers of graduated height, the drawer fronts also veneered and inlaid to match, with Georgian pattern brass handles and escutcheons. Lovely grain to the sides which are also fitted with brass carry handles. Moulded base trim and shaped bracket feet at the front and sides. Oak drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
