Small Painted Pine Commode c.1880

Neat little late 19th.c. French pine commode or chest of drawers with the original paintwork c.1880. Unusual small size, just over three feet wide and only 16" deep. Four drawers plus a slim fifth drawer hidden in the plinth. Painted or 'scumbled' finish of simulated wood grain on the top front and sides of the chest. Brass drawer knobs and original moulded block front feet. Some obvious wear to the paintwork on the top. Otherwise very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
