Set of 12 Gothic Revival Oak Dining Chairs c.1890

Remarkable set of 12 late 19th.c. Pugin style Gothic revival oak dining chairs c.1890. Beautiful ogee arch shaped backrests with carved detail to the cresting rails and blind tracery panels over pierced stretchers. Board seats with a moulded edge raised on chamfered front legs with carved trefoil detail and shaped feet. The legs are joined with chamfered H stretchers for strength. Sold with a loose seat pad for each chair. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
The chairs were originally part of a large suite of Gothic revival furniture created for a Château in Northern France.
