Painting of Clowns Dated 1975

Large painting in oil on canvas of four clowns, signed and dated 1975. Head and shoulders length portraits of four clowns in full make-up and costume. Expressive faces but black featureless eyes create a disturbing effect. Note the bottle and glass in the foreground. Painted in thick oil paint with scratches to the surface coming from each clown's eyes and the top of the bottle. The signature and date are also scratched in the surface of the paint in the lower right hand corner. Some cracking to the surface, generally good condition. Presented unframed on the original stretcher.
