Painted Pine Kitchen Dresser c.1890
Late 19th.c. painted pine kitchen dresser or sideboard retaining the original 'scumbled' paintwork c.1890. Raised back with a shallow shelf with serpentine shaped edge and four small drawers. Over the superb 2" thick worktop (height 34") in solid sycamore. Base with seven large drawers of graduated height arranged around the slightly recessed central cupboard fitted with a single shelf inside. Beautiful scumbled paintwork designed to give the impression of more expensive burr walnut and oak veneers. It is quite rare to find these sideboards with their original paint as the vast majority have been stripped back to the bare pine. With half depth turned finial mouldings applied either side of the drawers and a cupid's bow shaped apron above the cupboard. Raised on the original tall turned feet front and rear. Some wear to the paintwork, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Note the top is removable for delivery.
