Oil on Canvas Street Scene by Louis Lemonnier c.1950

Good sized mid century oil painting on canvas by the French artist Louis Lemonnier (1907 - 1950) c.1950. An autumnal French street scene with a lone figure and a lit gas lamp. Painted with muted colours in thick impasto paintwork applied with a brush and palette knife. Clearly signed in the lower left hand corner. Presented as found in the original frame with an annotated label on the rear. Excellent condition.
