Metamorphic Library Steps & Side Chair c.1870

Late 19th.c. metamorphic library steps and side chair in walnut c.1870. Gothic style decoration to the backrest with a quatrefoil piercing, raised diamond mouldings and chamfered and ebonised edges continued on the seat and front legs. Backrest and seat fold over to make a useful set of library steps with the top step at 34″ from the floor. Brass hinges and steel locking stay. Very good colour and condition, restored cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
