Large Kashan Persian Carpet c.1980

Large Persian carpet from Kashan, Iran c.1980. Just over 11 feet long and 8 feet wide. Finely knotted with a soft pile. Featuring a dense traditional garden pattern in rich reds and blues with scores of flowers and plant motifs symmetrically arranged around a central medallion. Within a broad border with multiple bands of decoration. Short fringe at each end. Importers label to the rear stamped made in Iran and annotated Kachan. Excellent condition with good even colour. Sold together with a certificate and receipt from the tapestry dealers Grutman of Brussels, both dated March 1980.
