Mahogany Filing Cabinet or Wellington Chest c.1930

Mahogany filing cabinet or wellington chest c.1930. Tall mahogany cabinet into which fit 8 loose box drawers with tooled and gilded leather fronts and finely cast wreath-shaped brass handles. The internal dimensions are 14½” x 9½″ x 5½" - plenty big enough for sheets of A4 paper or perhaps a pair of shoes or accessories etc. All the drawers are held closed with the hinged and lockable right hand pilaster, and could be removed completely if desired to make a useful set of open shelves or pigeon holes. Raised on a simple plinth with a moulded cornice to the top, presented in excellent condition, simply cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
