Mahogany Chest of Drawers c.1800

Quality George III mahogany chest of drawers c.1800. Unusual configuration featuring four small drawers around a large centre drawer, with three long drawers of graduated height below. Mahogany veneered top with crossbanded edges and inlaid boxwood stringing. Cockbeaded drawer fronts with decorative inlay and later brass lion's mask handles. Ebony and boxwood inlaid trim around the base over a shaped apron and splayed bracket feet. Solid oak drawer linings, mahogany groundwork to the drawer fronts and solid mahogany sides. Some minor wear, generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
